The current pandemic may have affected athletes’ bearings. Their routines have been turned upside down, and this is when loss of control can occur, leading to psychological problems. No one is immune to mental health problems.

At the Tokyo Olympics, American gymnast Simone Biles publicly declared that she was suffering from mental health problems: “I think it was just the stress factor. It built up over time, and my body and mind just said no. But even I didn’t know I was going through this until it happened.” 🤸

Despite all the benefits that physical activity can have on mental health, the fact remains that intense physical activity can lead to unhealthy behaviors. That’s why it’s important to stay vigilant! 👀
